Media Players for Installations

We supply a wide variety of media players, which are all basically different types of data storage devices. CD’s were the original data storage device and are still popular within schools, churches, working men’s and social clubs and any other establishment that still has many CD’s!

The MP3 device quickly took off; particularly within the installation market due to the amount of data, mainly audio, that could be stored when compressed into a MP3 file. Most MP3 media players have the facility to take a flash memory card or USB stick. They both serve the same purpose, to play back audio files.

Recent technology has seen many media players now include Blue Tooth connectivity. Bluetooth is wireless technology that transmits audio data over short distances (usually up to 10 metres or so) via a smart phone or tablet. If your installation requires you to transmit data over a longer distance, it is always advised to use an auxiliary cable from the tablet or phone to the media player. All media players will have an input to take the 3.5mm Aux cable. This may be on the rear of the player via Red & White Phono inputs instead of the 3.5mm cable that you may be familiar with from your device. This cable amongst any other cables that you may require is available here in our accessories category.

Some media players will also have FM radio built in. This does require connectivity to an external aerial for a clear radio signal. Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) radio players are also becoming popular.

We always strongly advise that installation be carried out by qualified and knowledgeable personnel. We are always happy to give you advice and welcome any discussions regarding supply and installation.
